Introduction
In preparation for the launch of the mobile app version of the Versant English Certificate, FG Connect partnered with Pearson to conduct in-depth market research. This project aimed to understand user interactions and experiences with the app, identifying specific challenges and preferences among prospective users. The research sought to capture nuanced feedback on usability, design, and overall satisfaction to ensure the app meets the needs of its users.
Specifications
The research involved phases of structured testing session where participants took the Versant English test on a mobile device in a controlled setting and then on a PC, where the app is already in the market. To gather rich qualitative data, FG Connect encouraged respondents to share their spontaneous thoughts and feelings while using the app on both the mobile device and PC. Participants were asked to complete the test independently, and were then interviewed to delve deeper into their experiences. Key areas of focus included user navigation, perceived ease of use, and any technical challenges encountered during the testing phase.
Results
The research revealed that users appreciated the convenience of the mobile app, highlighting its potential to increase accessibility for English language learners.
